Profit Sharing vs SubscriptionWhich Pricing Model Wins?

The pricing model determines the bot provider's incentive. One model aligns interests. The other doesn't.

The Fundamental Difference

Subscription: You pay a fixed monthly fee ($20-$130) regardless of your trading results. The platform earns whether you profit or lose. There is zero incentive for the provider to make you profitable.

Profit Sharing: You pay a percentage of your profits (typically 20-30%). If you don't profit, you pay nothing. The provider only earns when you earn -- perfect alignment of interests.

The Math: Real Scenarios

Scenario 1: Let's say you invest $1,000 and earn 5% monthly return

unCoded (30% profit-sharing): $50 profit, $15 fee = $35 net

3Commas Pro ($37/mo): $50 profit, $37 fee = $13 net

CryptoHopper Hero ($107.50/mo): $50 profit, $107.50 fee = -$57.50 net loss

Scenario 2: Let's say you have a losing month (-3% return)

unCoded (profit-sharing): $30 loss, $0 fee = -$30

3Commas Pro: $30 loss + $37 fee = -$67

CryptoHopper Hero: $30 loss + $107.50 fee = -$137.50

When Subscription Wins

Subscription only wins when you're consistently highly profitable (15%+ monthly return). At that point, a fixed fee becomes cheaper than 30% of large profits. But most traders don't sustain 15%+ monthly returns consistently.

The Verdict

For most traders, profit-sharing is the safer and fairer model. Currently, unCoded Bot is the only major trading bot offering a pure profit-sharing model (30% of profits, reducible to 20% per $200 invested).
